Founding of the Font-Sans company<\/div>

Like many sausage companies, FONT-SANS<\/strong> began life as a butcher shop and a small workshop in Sant Feliu de Pallerols, in the Pyrenees. Josep Font Sentias<\/strong> founded the business in 1917, a century-old family business that would be passed down through the generations in the FONT family line, a story of dedication to a craft and a passion.<\/p>\n

The train and the factory<\/div>

Thanks to the founder's vision and the Olot-Girona train, which passes through the town, the sale of the sausages became easier year after year. The business grew until it needed larger facilities. It was then that the first phase of the drying facility was built. <\/p>\n

Growth of the Spanish market<\/div>

Coinciding with the recovery from the Civil War, FONT-SANS<\/strong> gradually conquered the Spanish market, consolidating its activity over the following years and providing employment to many people in the town and surrounding areas.<\/p>\n

The factory expansion<\/div>

With the arrival of the second generation, Miquel Font Ribas<\/strong> gave the family business a new lease of life. He trained at the prestigious \u00c9cole de Charcuterie in Paris<\/em> and imported the country's first machines for special meat mincing.
His dominance in the Spanish market allowed for major expansions, establishing the building still in use today. <\/p>\n

The third generation
and the first exports<\/div>

With the arrival of the third generation, Josep Font Sans<\/strong>, the door opens to the creation of new products, the modernization of production processes, and the adaptation to new food safety requirements. The first exports to France begin, eventually extending to all of Europe. <\/p>\n

Currently, under the fourth generation's management of Pol Font Comalada<\/strong> and Isaac Font Comalada<\/strong>, FONT-SANS<\/strong> exports to more than 20 countries. We continue to use only the finest fresh pork cuts from local suppliers and maintain natural curing practices, all with the vision of bringing the traditions of our region and our passion for sausages to the world, offering the best gastronomic experience, always faithful to the highest quality and our heritage since 1917. <\/p>\n
